Sustainable Tourism

Since we started operating in 2009 the Drunken Monkey has catered to a range of customers and clients. Cooperate parties of large multinational business located in the Czech Republic and abroad; groups of friends looking for a weekend getaway; solo travelers on business or leisure, looking to make new friends in a warm and accepting environment.

We strongly believe that over the years the hundreds of thousands of customers we have had the pleasure of hosting would agree that we provide a safe and fun experience while helping them follow city rules and regulations. Our guides prevent visitors from aimlessly roaming the streets in an otherwise unruly and disorderly manner, all while maintaining a fun and positive atmosphere. Drunken Monkey takes pride in keeping harmony with the local community by listening to and working with our neighbors, local hostels & hotels, bars, clubs and other privately owned businesses in the area to support each other and prosper.

Prague has drastically improved in the past few years, however there are still businesses that take advantage of tourists and we hate that; it’s bad for the city’s reputation and that is bad for us. So we put together a list of suggestions below, check them out here and let us know if you have something to add.

Privacy POLICY

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit our websites or use our services.

2. Websites Covered

This policy applies to drunkenmonkey.cz, and any booking, ticketing or payment services we operate through this site and its subdomains.

3. Personal Data We Collect

a) When you purchase tickets or products, we collect the following:

  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Address (street, city, postcode, country)
  • Optional: Company name
  • Order details (products/tickets purchased, quantities, price, date/time)
  • Transaction identifiers from our payment processor
  • IP address

Payment card details are not stored on our systems. They are processed securely by our payment provider (Viva Wallet).

b) When you use our contact form, we collect the following:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Message content

c) When you use our websites, we collect the following anonymous aggregate data:

  • Demographics (location, interests)
  • Device information (browser, operating system)
  • Traffic sources (how users arrive)
  • Engagement metrics (pages visited, time on site)

We do this via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).

d) If you choose to start a chat via our Facebook Messenger widget:

  • Your public Facebook profile and any messages you send will be shared with Meta Platforms, Inc.
  • This data may be processed on servers outside the EU, including in the USA.

‍4. Purposes and Legal Bases for Processing

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Fulfilling a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): Managing your booking, delivering tickets, processing payments
  • Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): Accounting, tax compliance
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Preventing fraud, ensuring site security
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): Sending marketing communications, enabling analytics/tracking, using the Messenger widget

5. Data Retention

  • Ticket purchase data: 10 years (required by Czech accounting law). Contact details may be anonymized after the event where possible.
  • Contact form submissions: Deleted or anonymized within 12 months unless part of ongoing correspondence.
  • Marketing lists: Kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
  • Cookies/tracking data: See Section 8 for durations.

6. Data Sharing

We share your data with the following categories of recipients:

  • E-commerce & payments: Foxy.io (cart provider), Viva Wallet (payment processor)
  • Website hosting: Webflow
  • Booking system and email server: Český hosting
  • Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (used by Webflow)
  • Analytics & marketing: Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel
  • Live chat: Meta (Messenger)

All processors act under our instructions and in compliance with GDPR.

7. International Transfers

Some of our service providers (e.g., Meta, Google, Foxy.io) process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the USA. Where applicable, we rely on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission to protect your data.

We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience (eg. Live Chat, Instagram Feed, Google Reviews), analyse our traffic, and optimize our website:

  • Essential: Strictly necessary cookies that allow core website functionality such as making a purchase and account management.
  • Performance: Performance cookies are used to see how visitors use the website, eg. analytics cookies.
  • Targeting: Targeting cookies are used to identify visitors between different websites, eg. content partners, banner networks.
  • Functionality: Functionality cookies are used to enhance user experience (eg. Live Chat, Instagram Feed, Google Reviews) and remember visitor information on the website, eg. language, timezone, enhanced content

You can control cookies via our consent pop-up or your browser settings. If you disable Functionality cookies, Facebook Messenger live chat will not work.

9. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your data in portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • File a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority (ÚOOÚ)
